Complaint about a statement made by Prof Karim during an eNCA news broadcast. The Complainant was of the opinion that Prof Karim’s views regarding the transmissibility of Covid-19 once a person was vaccinated, was incorrect and that he used this incorrect information to support mandated vaccination. The Tribunal did not find a contravention of Clause 28 (2) or 28(3)(1) of the Code for Subscription Broadcasting Service Licences. Dr Karim’s comment was his honest opinion based upon facts clearly mentioned or fairly referred to. Complaint dismissed.
