ADJUDICATION NO:40/A/2024 – MKHONZA VS MULTICHOICE CHANNEL 157 – PRIVACY

A complaint was lodged by Mr Musa MKhonza (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Pastor or Complainant’) with the BCCSA against MultiChoice Channel 157, Fake Pastors programme (hereinafter referred to ‘the Broadcaster’) with regard the programme that had been broadcast on the 25^th of August 2024 at 19h30. The Complainant is of the view that even though he had not given consent to go ahead with the broadcast, the Broadcaster went ahead – and the latter resulted in invasion of his privacy, thus contravening the provision of clause 28.4 of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa Subscription Code of Conduct (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Code of Conduct’).
