Complaint about the excessive use of the ‘F’ word and taking the Lord’s name in vain in a film, televisionentitled Angels in America, which was broadcast on 30 November 2004 at 21:30.

The Tribunal held that in the light of the guarantee of freedom of expression and in the context of this film, the words were used as exclamations, and were integral to establishing the personalities and circumstances of the characters.   The words are thus motivated in context and the name of Christ was not made a mockery of.  The intention of the words was not to sanction, promote or glamorize violence based on religion.  Complaint dismissed.
