Complaint that SABC had not broadcast the outcome of a BCCSA judgment on the non-renewal of televisionthe contract of Mr Du Preez, a TV producer, correctly.

The Complainant also argued that the SABC should have rectified the lack of balance which the BCCSA found to have existed in the programme.

Held on: that the essence of the summary was broadcast; it was clear from the broadcast that one matter had not been decided upon, that no evidence of lack of editorial independence had been found to exist and that Mr Du Preez’ view should also have been broadcast;  further that the BCCSA had directed that the summary of its decision be broadcast and not that the original item be rectified.
