Two radio stations had misrepresented facts relating to a Press Ombudsman decision. Mr Rampedi, radioa journalist of the relevant newspaper, was severely criticised on the basis of a misunderstanding of the Press Ombudsman’s decision. On his insistence, he was given an opportunity to rectify the misinformation on air later that day. He indicated to the BCCSA Tribunal that he was satisfied with the two opportunities afforded to him to reply.

The opportunity which he was granted to reply was regarded as satisfactory, although not perfect, by the Tribunal. There was substantial compliance with the Code. The complaints were not upheld.
