A complaint was lodged against the broadcast of the film “LA Confidential” after the watershed. It related to the taking of the Lord’s name in vain in this action thriller. The Tribunal held that within the context of the film as a whole, this utterance, as well as other instances, did not reach the level of hate speech based on religion, despite its offensive nature when judged in isolation.
