The series “Couplings” which has been on the air for the last 12 months, contained sexual innuendo in the two issues complained about. The question was whether the time of screening was not too early and whether the screenings should not have been age restricted and classified for more mature viewers.
The Commission held that the sexual innuendo was directed at mature viewers who understand the context and that younger viewers would simply not understand or be interested in this kind of programme, where all depends on dialogue. Age and Sex classification was, accordingly, not necessary.
Complaint not upheld.
